We Are Home, Finally

We left Childress, TX after a very noisy early morning rain and hail. We went back to bed and got up at 8:30 am. We ate breakfast and left for home. We got to the Ford house for service about 2:30 pm and will have to go back on Thursday. Our driving lights still are malfunctioning that prevents us from getting a state inspection.

And now that we are parked at Benbrook Lake, Holiday Park, space 16, the rains are coming. This is the first time we have seen the lake above normal pool level. Over the last two years we have see the lake level as low as 14 feet.

The map says its 1220 miles from Zion to here. We drove 1271 miles which includes side trips to the rv parks, etc. The rv needs to be gassed up as the tank is at 15 gallons or below the 1/4 tank mark. I will have to get gas after the rv leaves the ford service on Thursday. We towed the suv Childress before we unhooked it and Shirley followed the rv. Remember the rv has no rear lights except turn signals.

We will go get the Cavalier and then have two vehicles for our use. That will be tomorrow with the coming weather.

Hi,

I was surprised to read that you were headed back to home base in TX. Guess that's the nice thing about this lifestyle, you can change your mind and go where ever you want, when you want. Enjoy the rain (whatever that is - LOL).

Oh yes, thanks for the map link, I see you are a copy cat - LOL!

yep, Shirley wanted to post the map.
and she wanted to come home. we have been gone for 7 months and she got home sick. 1270 miles and lots of gas. but, we are where we can get the rv repaired. no other ford dealer we came across could work on it. we will be here for probably a month.
