A Day of Rest

A day of rest for the ole bones and muscles. The fingers are sore and stiff from to much golf. IE, they hurt.

It has been perfect. Cool mornings and warm afternoons. Today depends on the front coming our way and if it will get this far. Its a nice 68* now.

This was the only place we saw with any camping off the road. This was taken last sunday afternoon in SPI.

There is not alot to see down here. we have been south to US281 and west to Mission, north to Edinburg and east to SPI. Suv mileage to site see was 302.

We will pull out on 3/1 and head to Hobbs, NM first and then on the AZ and Utah. I will post our planned route soon.

Its a Supurb Day

More of our trip to the Island. As you can tell it was a nice day, NOT. It did get to 71 with some sun while 64 and clouds back at the park.

This is the swells at the beach on the gulf side. They were 3-4 feet and breaking. Getting from the road to the beach was not as good as this shows. The sand was atleast 12" deep and soft. Once you got past that it was wet and packed. lots of suv and pickups were on the beach, no cars.

All this was sunday. Monday was better but we stayed in.

We will be here till 3/1 and then of to AZ and Utah for this year. Yellowstone is in our plans. And I plan on seeing my cousion in Bousie too.

We will be back to home sometime.

And It Is a Beautiful Day

The day started out at 50* and ended with a 71*. I was at the golf course by 10 am and on the course by 11 am. I played with a very nice couple, Jim and Carol. I played the best round of a long time. I had an 8 with a birdie on the front and birdie on the back nine. I didn't add up the back nine but played well except for a triple and a double on the back nine. I lost two balls to the rough.

The rest of the week is to be warm and SE winds. More golf!

The end of the SPI park road.

The Sunday Post

We went to the end of the Park Road 100 and along the way we found some campers "camping". We took several pics of them. They were all parked on the side of the road. All of the beach access is private property and no access is available. That which is designated as city/county access has no overnight camping allowed.

This guy had metal art by his rv. The beach is about 50-100 yards away.

We went for a ride Sunday to SPI. We are just tired of the cloudy skies and cool temps. We found this on the north end of town and stopped to get some pics.

Seems there was a kite flying thing going on this sunday and we were there at the right time.

Somebody's "toad" at the park. And on SPI was these.
