More Pics

On our day trip the other day, we drove south to US281 and went sightseeing. We came upon these and have wondered what they are. The are in the fields and have varing tube heights.

The closeup shows what appears to be a valve operator and access ladder. Since we have not seen any irregation but we have seen the water filled canals, our guess is they are irregation valves.

What do you think?

A long shot of a tube close to the houses. Lots of the fields were plowed and lots were not.

This land is flat and has very little ability to drain.

Another pic of the park showing the parking spaces and how close they are not. if you look close you can see our RV. Its under the tower with the red suv. Since this pic was taken, the space next to us has been occupied by a 5th wheel.

There are more pics of our day trip on our pic link. We may take a dozen pics but only post 3-4 here.

There are RV's of all types. From short travel trailers and small 5th wheels to the much more expensive diesel pushers. So far not one of the "million dollar" busses has arrived.

And there is only one other satellite dish here that is visiable. It also is a tripod.

A View from the levee

Took this a couple of days ago. The pic starts from the west, left, and goes to the north and then east. This is a grouping of seven pictures. Kinda neat to do. The software to do this is located at this Autostitch web site. There is no camera settings involved. Its just a series of overlapping pics. The camera will do the same with settings to panomara and taking overlapping pics. Credit for this software goes to vagabond George. The individual pics are in the pic link.

More of the Same Today

Its still the same. Rain and more to come. Since a pic is worth a 1000 words, here is the 1000 words.

The first is looking west toward the Escapee forum member lindad's place. You can't miss it. Its the one with the pond in front. Its a lake when it crosses the street. For some reason the road bed has sunk several inches causing a low spot. The park will have a company come out and fix this soon.

This is looking toward the northeast. Its kinda wet out there. Tomorrow is to be a better day. Sunny with high in the 80's. We had some heavy rain last night and I expect everything to be wet friday. A good day to hit the driving range.

This morning we will go to the pool hall again. DW is getting pretty good and is taking atleast half of the games. I'm not helping her anymore.

Temp:48*, 50* now, 72* forecast with 40% chance of rain. Sure beats the cold.

UPDATE:
The sun came out about noon and its turned into a fabulous day. It got upto 62 . Its a golf day tomorrow. High in the mid 80's.

We are having some Rain Today

Just as mentioned in yesterdays post, the rains are here. Rain begain last night and has continued off-on today. There was a period this morning of several hours of no falling precipition. Now we have mist. The temps for today are 56*overnight, 64* for the high so far and a forecast of 62* as the high.

They park is filling up everyday. We were told weeks ago that the "high dollar" coaches will be arriving soon after the first of the year. So far the most expensive coaches here are a couple of Country Coaches. There are no Foretravel coaches yet or Provest. There was a Provest here but it left before the first of the year. There are a couple of converted vans, a class b and several class c.

A Sunny Morning

This is our new space. We are right under the wifi tower with the birds. The tree is a non bearing tree and the cat loves it. He gets up on the shelf behind the couch and sits there and watches the birdes in the tree.

The skies have turned cloudy with the coming rain. Its 63* now and the high of 65* is at risk. Rain is forming south of us and headed our way.

No golf today with the coming rain. We did drive down to bus 281 which is south of us. The fields were cultivated but not much growing. We did see what we believe is lettace though.

This pic is of the front of the space. The suv will just barely fit on the side. There is not enough room in front of the rv either.

We are so close to the tower that the window awning can not be opened nor the storage door. If I mearured it, it would be about 15inches away.

The park is filling up. The true "Snowbirds" are arriving. They come from Canada, MN, WI, NY, ND etc. We had to move from our space at 653 as it was reserved for 1/1 to 3/1/07. The space we are in was one of two available in the east and west areas. There were still open spaces in the north.

We did drive thru our neighbor Magic Valley the other day. They have open spaces still, just much closer parking. The parking is on grass with a concrete pad for your patio. For those with more to spend, check out the Martin Valley golf course area. There you will find stick n brick homes on large lots. And you can drive the golf cart to the 27 hole course.

And we did drive thru Bit o Heaven rv park. It was crowded except for those along the highway. I dont know the if there is room but you can call.

Happy New Year

I hope you got some sleep where ever you are. Down here the fire works were ever where. The neighbors to the south in Mexico had several very spectacular show. We got to see them thru our windshield. We went to bed about 10:30 but the noise was pretty loud. Down here fire works are sold in the city limits and are popped within the city limits. They do know how to party. We haven't heard this in years.

There was a party here and they had a evening meal and dance. We turned on the tv and they were dancing. Shirley doesn't and I forget how so we stayed home. I worked on the 2006 blog and started this 2007 this morning.

We woke up to a cool 42*, 53* at midnight, forecast 68* with clear skies.
The forecast is for rain thru this thursday. I did play golf yesterday with the next day being friday. I'm still working on the chipping and long irons. Things are looking much better with a better score card. It is nice to be able to hit a 200 yd shot and get on the green or make a short 50 yd pitch and get on the green. Par's are nice!

Enjoy the day and eat your black eyed peas. And I hope you like the new look of our blog for this year.
