It is a Fine Day

Atleast the morning was. This afternoon the wind got up with the coming front. Got to play the city of Hobbs golf course, $21.00 with cart for 18 holes. The "old man" rate sure is cheap. The greens are bentgrass, fairways will be bermuda when its green again. Remember its still winter here.

We will have to take the rv into the Ford house. The speedometer along with the odmeter and cruise has quit. We have checked all fuses and they are good. We have an appointment monday in Hobbs, NM. More on this later.

Update:
On saturday we dumped our tanks and filled the water tank and the speedometer worked. No going for service. I guess a fuse shifted enough to stop everything. Now it all works. We also have rewired the trailer plug under the rv to the back of the fiberglass. It stopped working. We bought some new wire here and replaced the old wire. We got toad lights.

Google Map of Our Location

This is our gps location map of Lovington, NM. We are pointed east as shown but closer to the building than where the arrow shows. Hope you like this as I'm going to try to do this map location with our moves.

We have SOMETHING New

We have wanted to do this for sometime. We finally did. We took out our booth and repaired the electricial box on the wall. The seat cushions were shot and cost to much to replace. Besides the fabric was worn pretty bad. Pretty easy to remove and putty in the holes. All the parts went to the city dump.

The chairs are the same finish as the wood. we will need to put seat cushions on them. All in all we like it.

The mattress was saggy in the two sleeping areas. The middle was still firm and the edges were too firm which made for a soft sleeping area. We bought a queen Sealy mattress of standard size. The Miller-Waldrop furniture store in Hobbs is where we bought the chair and mattress. See Finesse or Melissa. We will report in a few days how it is to sleep on. It should be much better than the old one. The new matress is a good 2-3 inches thicker.

Chairs were $49.99 each and the mattress was $549.00, all plus sales tax.

We are looking to do our rubber roof coating. Wal-mart carries a coating for it but it is 75 sf at $13.00 plus tax. My guess for coverage is 8.5' by 36' = 306 sf less two a/c, king dome, etc. I'm going to put it at 275 sf; buying 4 gallons. And then again, should we coat it. DW read that its good for 10 years with no treatment. Hmmmmm. Guess we better look at Fleetwood for answers. Found this on a search. Care of a rubber roof.

Tomorrow is golf day. Today and tomorrow are the only warm days this week. The next day is next week sometime.

A Cold Front has Arrived

It came in Saturday night with winds and clouds and Saturday morning rain. Sheets of rain. More on Sunday with a few breaks in the clouds and again more today. Lows in the low 40's and highs struggling to get to the low 50's. Possible more on Tuesday but its to be warmer.

Daddy is doing ok. He gets up and walks some. We has to use a walker since he fell and broke his hip. Atleast he can and does get around. I have decided to not take any pics of him so that the memories will be of a healthier man.

We plan on being here till my brother gets better from the pneumonia. While he is sick we will look after our dad.

If we can move to the city park in Hobbs, I will put up the DTV sat on the tripod and the DW sat. And get to play atlest a round of golf at the course nearby. Its actually in walking distance of about 100 yards to the pro shop.

No new pics of here. Look back into 05 and 06 for them. We will be on the road again soon. There is some large metal art on the way to Carlsbad, NM that I want to get. We went that way in 01 in an rv and I dont know if we got pics or not. They are rather large and set on a hillside off the road.
