It Was a Lazy Day

This is our range hood which is in need of replacing. This model is no longer available so I will have to go looking at newer rvs and see what there is out there.

I will do that here and if there is a replacement, then i will see about buying one.

This is Shirley's favorite floor plan. It is still available for a nice tidy figure. Yes, it is for sale. The lots in the north area are all for sale including the rv lots. I would think that leasing them made better economic sense but how am I.

This is where we parked last year. See our January 07 post for more. We were right under the wifi tower, birds and all

Here is another lazy bum enjoying the day. When he stretches out he is a big cat. Notice that he is well fed too.

He is my companion on this years trip.

Our day has been kept cool by the clouds. The a/c did not run today and a fan kept me cool for my afternoon nap.

Soon all these spaces will be occupied. The crowd will be getting here in December and for sure in January. Its the January rent that will make the cash. Its nearly a $200 jump for the first three months of the year.

A panaroma of the north area showing the growth of the palms. Go back to our first of the year posts for then pictures. Large lots for sale and the price is up from $24,999 last year.

Temp: 84 for the high, 81 now, 66 was the morning low. We have a change coming for Tuesday.

The Setup and Golf and Golf Cart

The afternoons get rather warm in the sun so I do all my outdoor setup activities in the cool of the morning. That is except for when I got here on Tuesday around 11;15 am and finally parked an hour later. First thing to do was hook up the electric for a/c. After that it was water hose and cable connection. Last was the sewer hose. I don't like to handle the other items after the sewer hose. Then its wash my hands. After this is done, I come in and level the rv. With the two of us doing all this, the rv gets leveled first. With it being just me, things are done a little different. I'm going to raise the jacks and put wood under the tires and level the rv again. One end of the concrete is lower than the other and I had to raise that side more than it should. This is causing the shower door to close and the pantry to slide out.

I took Tuesday and Wednesday mornings to get all of this done. I got to play golf Thursday morning on the back 9 holes. The front 9 have been reseeded and is closed to play. I was told that the back 9 will be closed for reseeding too and the front nine will be opened. Both 9's are to be opened for play about the middle of this month. I put up our internet dish in the afternoon and got a nice 71 and a passing 88 cross pol test.

Today is wash the rv and suv. Our last stop in Weatherford had a no wash policy. With the rains the rv lower part is dirty and the suv is too from being towed. I did get the golf cart about 9;30 pm last night. It is brand new and needs to be fully charged before I go golfing and running around. While I wash, the batteries will get charge. Then its all done. I will vacuum the rv and suv and get them clean inside. The rv got its normal cleaning before its moved. Now its time to vacuum again. I did get two loads of clothes washed yesterday while I played the Runescape computer game.

Today is like yesterday, "pea soup" fog. I mean its thick. Breakfast will be boiled egg with pancakes and juice and my pills. I have had my morning cup of coffee doing this.

Temp: 61 with morning fog
Forecast: 87 and sunny

We Have Arrived at the Rio Grande Valley

We are located in the same Llano Grande park as last year but in a different location. This is space 462. As you can see its across th street from the west pool and laundry.

I have gone on my on as my DW is working full time. She was worried about my traveling and doing all the hookup and un hooking by myself. As you can see I got here.

I had no problems getting hooked up and the inside of the rv ready to travel. I did all the things I was told to do and it worked out fine. I am a good listener.

These pics are of the space. The rv is pointed north and this puts the west evening sun on the drivers side. The small orange tree/bush is for kitty to watch the birds. I brought along a bird feeder to attach to the window. I will put this up tomorrow as well finish the setup. The wifi here is much better than last year and I may not setup our Hughes net dish after all.

We have cable here. I will get the King Dome working so the receivers can get the DTV signal and stay on line. If thy are off line very long, DTV will deactivate them and this will require a call to get them reactivated.

I hope the wash policy is still the same so the rv and suv can be washed. Both are dirty. Thats all for now. It was a 10 hour trip, 6 hours on Monday and 4 hours on Tuesday. I will be here 4 months hopefully.

On My Way to the RGV

I left this morning about 9:10 am and made it to the Wal-Mart at Schertz, TX, 263 miles, and got gas. This is one of those that have the sign up, "No overnight Parking". The exit is 175 on I35 just north of San Antonio. I have grandkids there so I'll have to find a RV park on my way back next year. So it was on I went.

I'm currently at the rest stop near Pleasanton, TX on I37. I will spend the night here and go on down in the morning. I met a couple parked next to me and they are workcampers at LLano Grande. He said they will be doing pool maintance. They were there last year also. So, I'll look for "Bob" when we all get settled in. I have about 200 miles to go.

Mileage: 339.8 to the rest stop
