Wednesday Morning

Its been very nice here so far. Sunny skies with some clouds but no rain so far or cold weather. The wind did get up one day with 10-20 and gusts to 25. Still not bad.

I have been golfing more now that my eyes are about allergy free. No more itching and watery eyes. I even put in my contacts yesterday to play golf. First time since I drove down here that I could put them in.

Right now I'm washing clothes to keep up with the laundry. And I will dump tanks today with the gray water having two loads of wash. Black tank is burping already since last Saturday.

The palms here got trimmed last week and again this week. This is the lift used to get up to the leaf height. The guy uses a gas chain saw to do the work. He is nice and fast.

Other than that its get up, dress and eat breakfast, wash dishes, make bed, clean kitty box and take out trash. Then its golf time. Hit the course about 8:30 to 9: am and we are off.

I do play 18 holes each of the four days and I have a three month membership and trail fee. That cost $270 and $150 resp. The daily charge is $15 and $7. I'll let you see if its a good deal. The cart is $150 monthly with the additional $3 for a cart at the course. I use the cart for all my park running around and don't use the suv unless its a trip to the store. I went to Wal mart Sunday and the gas here was $2.93.9. I'm sure glad I filled the rv before I parked. Gas then was $2.79 I think. It was a $100 to fill up. Suv has 3/4 of a tank and will be some time before I gas it up.

Thats the lift. Its driven by the operator in the bucket, see him there. It is also driven from the ground if necessary. These things are usually driven from the bucket. It's not very fast, about 1 mile and hour.

The first pick shows the finished work. You can look back at prior pics to see the before shots.

I'll try to make the exercise center today and take a walk too. The clothes are being dried and there is time for me to take a walk.

So. I'll see what is happening here and get some pics for the next update. Ya'll have fun too.
I miss you honey and love you very much.

I' m going to add this update on the weather. its seems that tomorrow will be 70 for the high with 52 that hight. there are periods of rain forecast. We may be home bound tomorrow. I'll be glad to see some cooler weather even for a day. The normal high is about 82.

Temp:64 this morning, 72 now with a forecast high of 90 and sunny skies. May be an a/c day.

The Weekend is Here

Its Saturday and clean house time. And wash some clothes for next week. My arm felt much better on Friday and I did play 18 holes with no problems. Today its warm, 83 at 11:00 am and breezy. Its a 15-25 with gusts to 30 atleast the last hour. The wind blew Friday but not as strong.

I took this walk last Thursday while my arm rested and got up on the levy to take these pics. These same park models are for sale as they were last year. Maybe they will sell this year.

The first pic is of the back of the two. The 2nd and 3rd are of the front of the same. The last is a pic of the one closest to the drainage.

If you come down this way, stop by and say hi.

Resting the Arm

The new office and orange trees to its west. The owner has taken in an older two story and converted it in the new office. The new entrance will be north of the existing and will be a right turn thru the gate. Just to the right of that pic is th beginnings of the tall trees in the back. These are the avacodo trees we have heard about.
This is a much better view of them with pickers getting the fruit. They are much taller than the orange trees. If you didn't know, they would be just more trees.

A view thru the trees of the new office.

There are alot more pics than shown here. Go to the links for our pics and there you will find more of this very beautiful park.

The arm is so much better today. And the eyes seem to have allergy problems vs an infection. I am putting Rx drop in them for the itch and watery I have, doing so much better.

I miss my wife Shirley and wish she could be here with me, Love you honey.

Temp: 88 with mostly clear skies. 61 over night with the same tomorrow

Its Wednesday and Rest Day

My day of rest to let the body catchup from Monday and get ready for the Thursday and Friday grind. I did play 9 holes on Monday and went to the fitness center to get my training for
the exercise machines. That took an hour and I got my door card to get in anytime.

Tuesday I played 18 holes and stopped by the grill at the club house for a togo lunch. Was tired by the end of the day and went to bed about 9:30 pm. I woke up today and my left arm has strained muscles at the elbow from to much left arm exercise.

Its now mid afternoon and the arm is some better but still sore. I will not play golf tomorrow and let the arm rest another day. I certainly dont want to risk injury and waste some of this beautiful weather we are having. The front passed here and its 81. Mostly cloudy and very nice. No a/c today.

I took the panaroma this morning of the tree tops to show just how beautiful it is. The individual pics are in the links page to our pics.

My eye infection I had before I came dowm here has returned. I doctored both eyes last night and this morning and will do the same this evening. Its my right eye this time with the most discomfort. I have plenty of Rx so I take a week to treat them again. This is post contact infection. I am careful to wash my hands but somehow I get my eyes infected.

I got the sheets washed and put the comforter in the laundry washer and got it clean too. I'm caught up on the wash. The rv is fairly clean inside and washed outside. The suv is washed outside but not vacuumed inside yet.

My new neighbors in the travel trailer have twin young girls and there is a boys bike too. Haven't seen him yet. They stay in the trailer most of the time. They did get out and the dad and twins rode bikes while I was at the laundry. With the children polisy here, it will be interesting as to how long they will stay.

Ths first pic is of the smoke from burning the sugar cane fields. This is done to get ride of the leaves and have less to process into sugar. I have been golfing and have this burnt stuff come floating down all over the place.

Thats all from here. Hope your weather is as nice even if cooler.

It Was a Lazy Day

This is our range hood which is in need of replacing. This model is no longer available so I will have to go looking at newer rvs and see what there is out there.

I will do that here and if there is a replacement, then i will see about buying one.

This is Shirley's favorite floor plan. It is still available for a nice tidy figure. Yes, it is for sale. The lots in the north area are all for sale including the rv lots. I would think that leasing them made better economic sense but how am I.

This is where we parked last year. See our January 07 post for more. We were right under the wifi tower, birds and all

Here is another lazy bum enjoying the day. When he stretches out he is a big cat. Notice that he is well fed too.

He is my companion on this years trip.

Our day has been kept cool by the clouds. The a/c did not run today and a fan kept me cool for my afternoon nap.

Soon all these spaces will be occupied. The crowd will be getting here in December and for sure in January. Its the January rent that will make the cash. Its nearly a $200 jump for the first three months of the year.

A panaroma of the north area showing the growth of the palms. Go back to our first of the year posts for then pictures. Large lots for sale and the price is up from $24,999 last year.

Temp: 84 for the high, 81 now, 66 was the morning low. We have a change coming for Tuesday.

The Setup and Golf and Golf Cart

The afternoons get rather warm in the sun so I do all my outdoor setup activities in the cool of the morning. That is except for when I got here on Tuesday around 11;15 am and finally parked an hour later. First thing to do was hook up the electric for a/c. After that it was water hose and cable connection. Last was the sewer hose. I don't like to handle the other items after the sewer hose. Then its wash my hands. After this is done, I come in and level the rv. With the two of us doing all this, the rv gets leveled first. With it being just me, things are done a little different. I'm going to raise the jacks and put wood under the tires and level the rv again. One end of the concrete is lower than the other and I had to raise that side more than it should. This is causing the shower door to close and the pantry to slide out.

I took Tuesday and Wednesday mornings to get all of this done. I got to play golf Thursday morning on the back 9 holes. The front 9 have been reseeded and is closed to play. I was told that the back 9 will be closed for reseeding too and the front nine will be opened. Both 9's are to be opened for play about the middle of this month. I put up our internet dish in the afternoon and got a nice 71 and a passing 88 cross pol test.

Today is wash the rv and suv. Our last stop in Weatherford had a no wash policy. With the rains the rv lower part is dirty and the suv is too from being towed. I did get the golf cart about 9;30 pm last night. It is brand new and needs to be fully charged before I go golfing and running around. While I wash, the batteries will get charge. Then its all done. I will vacuum the rv and suv and get them clean inside. The rv got its normal cleaning before its moved. Now its time to vacuum again. I did get two loads of clothes washed yesterday while I played the Runescape computer game.

Today is like yesterday, "pea soup" fog. I mean its thick. Breakfast will be boiled egg with pancakes and juice and my pills. I have had my morning cup of coffee doing this.

Temp: 61 with morning fog
Forecast: 87 and sunny

We Have Arrived at the Rio Grande Valley

We are located in the same Llano Grande park as last year but in a different location. This is space 462. As you can see its across th street from the west pool and laundry.

I have gone on my on as my DW is working full time. She was worried about my traveling and doing all the hookup and un hooking by myself. As you can see I got here.

I had no problems getting hooked up and the inside of the rv ready to travel. I did all the things I was told to do and it worked out fine. I am a good listener.

These pics are of the space. The rv is pointed north and this puts the west evening sun on the drivers side. The small orange tree/bush is for kitty to watch the birds. I brought along a bird feeder to attach to the window. I will put this up tomorrow as well finish the setup. The wifi here is much better than last year and I may not setup our Hughes net dish after all.

We have cable here. I will get the King Dome working so the receivers can get the DTV signal and stay on line. If thy are off line very long, DTV will deactivate them and this will require a call to get them reactivated.

I hope the wash policy is still the same so the rv and suv can be washed. Both are dirty. Thats all for now. It was a 10 hour trip, 6 hours on Monday and 4 hours on Tuesday. I will be here 4 months hopefully.
