Chaparral Park in Lovington, NM

Some of the many ducks here at the park. Our cat loves to look at them. Ever since we parked at the tree in Mercedes, TX he gets on the shelf behind the coach and looks out the window. Yea! This is what we wanted him to do from day one.

Was a nice day here. Got to maybe 78 and pc skies. We went to see my dad. He is doing fine for his 87 years. He knew me but not Shirley. I just hate to see him or anyone get old.

My brother has pneumonia and will be sometime getting over it. So we will stay here till he is able to move around. Whether we will stay in the park boondocking remains to be seen. We are 24 miles from dad and can get closer by going to the Harry McAdams Park in Hobbs, NM. There is full rv hook ups, a dump station and a nearby golf course. The golf course is city run.

Lovington, NM

We didn't go to the county park after all. We came to the city park here to get our paper work finished for our taxes. Since my brother has the flu, actually more than that. He went to the Dr and he has the flu, bronchitis and pneumonia. He really is a sicky!

We are working on the paper work, got our mail, and will go see my dad tomorrow. We will spend the weekend here at the park boondocking with 30 amp shore power only. Come Monday we will do something. The weather for the next 10 days is still good with no cold fronts coming our way.

Postings will be as available and with something to say. From here we had west, maybe to catch Jean and Willard, at the ghost town, and Gerry in Blythe, CA "working".

Denver City, TX RV Parking

We drove to Denver City and took TX 214 north and came to this Yoakum County park. There is a nice looking golf course there and a park. The park has some rv parking, parallel, but its old.

They have 30 amp with the old glass screw type fuses. I opened one box and it had no fuses. Opened another box to exposed wiring. And opened a third box to see the fuses.

There was a 5th wheel parked there but not for me. Exposed wiring can mean shorts and no maintance. I pass on the park but would like to play the course.

We will move to the Gaines County park for the weekend. The drive to NM is not very far and we will do that in the am to get some paper work fixed so we can file our taxes. The next post will be from there.

Seminole, TX RV Parking

Gaines County has a golf course and rv parking north of town on TX214 about 8 miles. The golf course looks nice. The parking is to the left on entry and is backin to the pipe railing. There are 16 total spaces on asphalt with 8 facing each other. And they have a dump station.

Andrews, TX RV Parking

We found this on the internet for Andrews County RV parking. We are in town at the C of C park where there is 6 elec only spaces. North of town on TX385 about 8.3 miles is this park 1 mile east of the road. There is backend on the permeter and these pull thru's by the playground.
Stop here in either place and play the golf course that pro golfer Chad Campbell grew up on. Fast, smooth greens and narrow, tree lined fairways with water and bunkers. Super nice course at a senior rate of $16.00 with cart.

More of Andrews, Texas

This is our space in town. We are parked on asphalt with electric only. There is a water hydrant at space 1. There may have been water at each in the past but that was removed. The golf course is east of town and we are at 7th street west of town behind the C of C building on the north side of the highway.

Its a free for three days, donations requested at the box, and a dump station is suppose to be nearby. We have not been out looking for such. Its seems both of us are having some sinus problems since we got here. We will take a drive north to Seminole, TX and on to Denver City, TX and check on the camping there. From the Group I'm a member of describes better spaces. So we will see what is there. We need a little break on the cost of parking after our trip to the RGV.

I think DW said I played golf 9 times in February and 7 times in Janurary. Too cold, too much wind and throw in some rain. The wind was in the 15-25 with gusts over 30 range. Each front brought the wind.

Hopefully we can get to NM and see dad and how he is doing. There is the flu at my brothers and we are awaiting his recovery.

San Angelo State Park, North

This is where we spent monday night. Regular price is $18.00 plus entry fee of $6.00 if you dont have a card. We have the card and a half price coupon so our cost was $9.00. Still too much. We left here and went on to Andrews, TX the next morning.

The prairie dogs are the only sight to see. The park is by the lake but not in sight of it. We did get gas at the exit off US87 for $2.29.9 with the going price from 6 10 cents more.
